Corpus Iuris Civilis the body of civil law c1647. The system of Roman juris purdence compiled and codified under the direction of the emperor Justiuian in A. D. 528-534. The collection comprises the Institutes, Digest or Pandects, Code and Novels. The name is said to have been first applied to this collection early in the seventeenth century. This leather bound book measures 9 and one half inches high by 7 and one half inches wide and 3 and three quarter inches thick.

A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, and of Some Other Rare and Undescribed Animals. EDWARDS, George (1694-1773) Library Keeper to the Royal College of Physicians. London: printed for the author, 1743-1747. Volumes I only (of 4). 52 hand-coloured etched plates only (of 210) The plates numbered in a contemporary hand, English and French general titles with engraved vignettes by Johann Sebastian Miller and letterpress part-titles, text in English. This volume measures 11 and three quarters by 9 and one half wide and 1 and seven eighths inches thick. All the color plates are there. The original leather binding is in good condition with some wear from use.
